About the Curriculum

Committed to cultivating sustainable, dimensional wellness

Goal: To facilitate participants as they foster mindsets, build skills, and develop tools to proactively address compassion fatigue. Participants will experience improvements in personal and professional well-being as they learn to incorporate self-compassion, mindfulness, and self-care techniques into their lives. The ultimate goal of this curriculum is to foster a culture of compassion, kindness, and empathy in the Social Work Department at Swedish Medical Center.

Upon completion of this course, participants should be able to:

  1. Identify compassion fatigue symptoms in self and others, and utilize learned coping mechanisms as an approach to recovery.

  2. Integrate self-compassionate practice into daily routine.

  3. Apply mindfulness skills to professional and personal life to regulate emotions, decrease stress, and improve overall wellness.

  4. Establish and prioritize self-care behaviors into everyday life, through creation of purposeful, dynamic self-care plan.
